Feng Shui and Teen Boys Bedroom

by Kim C., Essential Feng Shui Enthusiast

I was visiting my girlfriend and family in Houston (years ago) after I moved to Atlanta. When I was looking at their new house I stumbled into her 14 year old son’s room. I flew out of there and asked the mom what was up with this disaster. She said “I  know. He won’t clean it up. I’ve tried.”

When her son came home, I knocked on his door. I stated the obvious, what a mess the room was. He wasn’t interested. I asked if I could talk to him for a few minutes, and he boringly agreed. I cleared a corner on his bed to sit and asked how things were going  for him: School – ok. Was he sleeping well – no, not really. What else was going on – Brett and his step-dad had been fighting a lot, his girlfriend was mad at him again. I asked if he would like these areas of his life to “fixed”. That got his attention as he gave a sincere “yes”. I told him I would help him. I told him how I had been reading about Feng Shui and how energy could improve his life with a few changes and a cleaner room.

WSFS Alumni Are Making Their Mark!

Spring, dressed in Nature’s lush new finery, is a great time to ask the question: ‘Do I store my creative spirit like formal wear in the back of my closet, or do I wear it every day like a favorite shirt? Essential Feng Shui recognizes the immense importance of wearing your creativity on your sleeve and teaches you how to cultivate it. When you open yourself to the depth of your uniqueness and the wild beauty of your personal genius, you can imagine your very own personal paradise into being.

Many of our alumni are lighting up the world in their own wonderful way. May the extraordinary brilliance of their unique creations inspire your own illuminated strings of words, fanciful flights of colors, or any imaginative play that wishes to whoosh through you. Put all formalities aside and step fully into your creative spirit. It’s like going home.

Love from our friend Casey:

Hey Terah & Liv:

First of all, thank you for the webinar it was great! Your joke about the refrigerator-looking at it, wondering what was in it, then having to eat everything in it- made me laugh a lot!  I love the new word “ESSENTIAL-IZING,” it’s so much more empowering then “downsizing,” and makes me want to start doing things that I have definitely been putting off…LOL!

Going forward I will definitely be taking pictures, and am bummed I didn’t think of it before I recently tackled my kitchen counters-but mine is a funny story even without pictures, so here goes:

Science confirms what Feng Shui has known for thousands of years…

Twelve years ago when I began my profession as a self-employed Essential Feng Shui® Practitioner (after graduating from the Western School of Feng Shui) I had no idea there was any Western science that proved a built environment could contribute to healing. I simply kept experiencing powerful space and life transformations among clients who hired me to Feng Shui their homes (and later with holistic and integrative boutique healthcare practices) to be more nurturing, warm and cozy, and aesthetically pleasing.

Community Love: Bagua Success!

Juicy gratitude from our friend Nicole, who found Bagua gems in The Western Guide to Feng Shui:

My boyfriend, step-children and I live together in a home we recently purchased.  We did some renovations but I always sensed there was something off.  It was kind of blah, and the amount of arguments and unhappiness in our home were growing rapidly. We’d never been the kind of people who fight all the time.  I did a study of the bagua map, but it didn’t dawn on me until a few weeks later that our love area was lying almost entirely outside the house!  I went to work immediately to make changes with landscaping and screening outside.  It was the side of our house where things like electrical meters were located.  I even found a rusty razor blade on top of the utility box. We also stored our garbage cans there.  This was less than one week ago.  I cannot even express how entirely different the mood is almost immediately.  I relocated furniture in that part of the house as well to a marked difference.  It’s truly amazing.  Even my partner remarked how great it looks and feels now.  From utilitarian to bamboo and palm like the beaches of Hawaii that we love so much.

All the talk in the New Year about resolutions won’t get you anywhere but disappointed. Statistics show that only 8% of people who make New Year’s Resolutions are successful.  Why is that? Are we all losers?

Far from it. There is a definite secret to making changes stick. You can make all the resolutions you want but until you change your beliefs, you will not succeed. The way to change your reality is to change what you believe.
